…from Slovenian Doctors

The First Lady of Zambia Mrs. Esther Lungu has handed over the medical equipment shipment that was channeled via her office to Nangoma Mission Hospital in Mumba.

This is according to a message from the Esther Lungu Foundation Trust (ELFT) Coordinator Ms. Mildred Chuumbwe to Zambia’s Ambassador to Germany H.E Anthony Mukwita.

“We are happy to let you know that we managed to deliver the medical shipment to Mumbwa on behalf of the First Lady,” Ms. Chuumbwe said, “The First Lady is also combing through her diary and as soon as she gets a little time, she would meet the young Doctors that collected the assorted equipment and medicine.”

Mrs. Lungu has won plaudits from many, locally and abroad for her charity work that targets the vulnerable people especially in Rural Zambia.

Ambassador Mukwita who also oversees Slovenia from the German capital Berlin said his embassy would continue reaching out in order to complement the First Lady’s great work.

Dr Klara Grad, a young medic representing the five young doctors that will work as volunteers at Nangoma for three months said her group was overwhelmed by Mrs. Lungu’s decision to help them transport the donation all the way from Slovenia to Mumbwa.

“We are grateful to the First Lady for this kind of gesture and of course to Ambassador Mukwita,” said Dr Grad.
