…to boost economic diplomacy

Ambassador Anthony Mukwita spent the weekend at an event with German’s largest individual investor in Zambia Carl Bruhn, the CEO and Founder of Amatheon that has operations in Mumbwa and Lusaka.
Bruhn on the right in the picture directly employs some 600 Zambians that have full time jobs at his agro company while he also supports about 15,000 out growers on a supply line scheme at Amatheon and continues to expand and create jobs.
Ambassador Mukwita said Bruhn is a, “perfect example to would be German investors that Zambia is a safe place to invest in.”
On the right is Andres Ruff, the CEO of Europe’s largest meat company, the Tönnies Group.
The family owned international company has its head office at Rheda-Wiedenbrück in East Westphalia, Germany.
The company, which operates in the food industry, is active around the world with its eight divisions of Meat Pork, Meat Beef, Convenience, Sausages, Ingredients, Logistics, International and Central Services.
Tonnies employs some 16,500 people and generated annual revenue amounting to about 6.6 billion euros in 2018.
Ambassador Mukwita met Ruff at the house of Bruhn in the upmarket Dahlem where a low-key birthday event was hosted for Bruhn as part of escalating economic diplomacy.
Bruhn has won loads of plaudits for his work in Zambia which he continues to expand. Happy birthday Carl and keep up the great work.
