The Minister of Tourism and Arts hon Ronald Chitotela has confirmed Zambia’s participation in the worlds most popular tourism event, ITB Berlin.
This is according to Zambia’s Ambassador Anthony Mukwita who spoke to the Minister on the sidelines of an economic diplomacy engagement he undertook.
“I am happy to say that our Minister of Tourism and Arts will grace the ITB Berlin and give Zambian tourism and Arts a bigger push. Hon Chitotela confirmed this to here in Lusaka.”
ITB Berlin, the largest tourism and travel event takes place annually in Berlin four months time and attracts more than 100,000 visitors from about 100 countries.
Zambia has consistently participated in the event annually in order to boost tourism visitations from abroad.
It is loosely known as the one stop show on tourism and travel in the world.
Potential tourists buy and sell tourism at ITB Berlin.
Zambia is already a highly favoured tourism destination due to its peace and stability of more than 50 years and also as the home of the mighty Mosi o Tunya or Victoria Falls.
Zambia Breweries has already chipped into ITB and donate a palate of Mosi beer to ‘wet’ the travellers while the embassy of Zambia is still looking for a sponsor to ship the Mosi.
Hon Chitotela told Ambassador Mukwita, “we’re participating in the Berlin event. ”
