MINISTER OF FINANCE SIGNS MONETARY SI
Germany, Monday 6 May 2013 – MINISTER of Finance Mr. Alexander Chikwanda has signed a Statutory Instrument (SI) which will bring into force the Bank of Zambia (Monitoring of Balance of Payments) regulations, 2013, whose objective is to monitor Balance of Payments in a transparent manner. Germany, Tuesday, April 30 2013 – Zambian footballer Felix Katongo has been chosen as the First African Ambassador for a newly-launched fashion label GLOBAL STRIKER. CP Compartner, a german consultancy company launched a brand-new fashion label called "Global Striker' with its logo "We love Football. We Love our Planet" on Thursday, 25 April, 2013. Katongo who was in attendance during the launch in Essen, Germany has also been invited to be on the team known as GLOBAL UNITED. Germany, April 16, 2013 – Mines, Energy and Water Development Deputy Minister Charles Zulu, has invited German investors to consider investing in the Kasama-Nakonde 330KV line, and the Zizabona Project Zambian portion, of the 400KV line at a cost of US$65 million and US$80 million respectively.Other investment opportunities in the distribution system include the installation of SVC Luano 220KV line, establishment of new 33/11KV sub stations to cost US$71.5 million and the reinforcement of 11 and 33KV overhead lines and cables to cost US$38.2 million.
